What Makes Ling Tung University Special
What Makes Ling Tung University Special
Here are some of the standout features of LTU — what it does well and what tends to appeal to students.
- Strong in Practical & Applied Programs
LTU offers programs in business, management, design, fashion, information science/engineering, etc.
The curricula often emphasize hands-on learning, applied skills, industry connections, and real-project components. - Design & Fashion Focus
It has colleges specialized in design, fashion, visual communication and innovation. If you’re into creative fields (fashion, product design, visual communication), LTU has good credentials. - International Linkages
LTU has been building partnerships with other universities globally (in America, Korea, Japan, etc.) and supports student exchange. - Recognition for Quality in Business-Related Programs
In the national evaluations conducted by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, LTU’s business-related programs have achieved high ratings (e.g. “A+”) repeatedly. - Accreditations
LTU is recognized by Taiwan’s MOE (Ministry of Education), and some of its business programs have international accreditation (e.g. ACBSP) which helps in global credibility.

What you can expect in terms of campus, lifestyle, and student experience:
- Campuses & Facilities
- LTU has two main campuses: Baowen (Bao-wen) and Chun’an campuses.
- The university has libraries, labs, computer facilities, design studios, fashion labs etc., especially supporting its design/fashion/innovation programs.
- Academic Culture
Courses are a mix of theory + strong applied and project-based learning, especially in business, design, information science. Students are often expected to do real-life projects, internships, or cross-field work. - Student Life
There are student clubs, events, cultural activities. Because Taichung is one of Taiwan’s major cities (but less hectic than Taipei), the lifestyle offers a balance: urban amenities, food, shopping etc., but with possibly lower cost and less crowding. - Tuition & Cost of Living
- Tuition for international students tends to be in the moderate range (not among the very cheapest, but also not as high as top private universities). Some resources estimate ~ NTD 81,100 ‐ 90,200 for certain international students.
- Living costs: accommodation, food, transport will depend on style. Taichung is generally less expensive than Taipei.
With scholarships, costs can be significantly reduced. - English vs Mandarin
Like many private universities in Taiwan, many courses are in Chinese; for international students, there may be programs in English, or support (Mandarin classes) but availability depends on department. It’s good to check with LTU specifically for the program you want.
